Tudor Submariner 7928 Gilt Dial
Case Width (excl. crown): 39mm
Lug Width: 20mm
Additional: Bracelet 6636; end links 80; clasp 1 66; case back stamped III.65
Case: Case condition is fair, showing no major damage or dents. There are the usual signs of age - surface level scuffs and a slight loss of crispness on the lugs. The bezel is well worn and has some noticeable chips as seen in the photographs. Bezel is currently not rotating.
Dial: Original chapter ring dial. In good condition, some light and attractive patination. Lume plots are in excellent condition, evenly coloured, raised and free from flaking
Hands: Overall hand condition is good. Metal is clean and free from corrosion. Lume looks to have been refreshed, colour is slightly different to the hour markers, but not severe
Bracelet / Strap: The original rivet link expandable bracelet is in excellent structural condition. Links are tight and undismayed. There are surface scuffs throughout
An original 7928 from 1965 with gilt dial and chapter ring markings. The long-5 bezel insert has three significant areas of damage as clearly shown, and the plexi requires replacement due to a significant crack (again clearly shown).
This is the perfect piece for a collector that likes to restore watches back to glory and select the bezel that most suits their taste (i.e. ghosted vs. mint).
The bracelet is an original 6636, still tight. The case has some light signs of polishing but nothing significant. The dial is in impeccable condition with consistent raised lume that is yellowed.
