The watch is in excellent condition with very light scratches only, the dial is very clean with no damage and very light spotting, comes on a new leather strap with aftermarket Rolex buckle. Also included a Rolex box with broken hinge.
The Oyster Perpetual may be Rolex's simplest model, but it also has the longest history. When it was first released, the Oyster Perpetual was one of the world's first waterproof automatic wristwatches. The patented 360-degree rotor meant for a while that most other watchmakers had to opt for a 'bumper' automatic movement, which was far less elegant of a design.
The Oyster Perpetual's name has also rather confusingly been used as a descriptor for all of Rolex's models, including the Professional line, to signify water resistance.
ROLEX
Known by many simply as 'the Crown', Rolex has certainly done much to deserve its reputation. From its founding just over a century ago by a German immigrant in the UK, Rolex has grown to become an international behemoth, recognisable (and indeed visible) across the globe.
Compared to other modern watchmakers, Rolex is in the near-unique position where its vintage watches have developed an almost entirely distinct collector base. It's no surprise, however, given the diversity and iconic status of so many Rolex models. The vintage Rolex community has arguably brought vintage watch collecting into the mainstream by shedding light on the beauty of old, worn watches which had so long been ignored by most.
