The Explorer I ref. 124270 is a return to form for Rolex's 'everyday' sports watch line. After a few years sitting at 39mm, Rolex decided to return the Explorer I back to its original (and iconic) 36mm case size. The difference between this and the original 14270 is minimal until it's picked up and held - the new 124270 is thoroughly modern in its construction, and feels far more solid than the original.

This solidifies its status even further as Rolex's perfect 'one-watch'. Its unobtrusive size and unpretentious design is complemented by the COSC Chronometer movement and 100m water resistance. If you're looking for something to put on your wrist that you never want to take off, this is it.
