This Rolex is in an excellent unpolished condition, with some scratches present throughout the case, caseback and bracelet. The date changes slightly early at 5 minutes to midnight, but the change is otherwise quick and smooth.
Comes with inner and outer box set, document holder, instruction manual, translation booklet, calendar card, both hang tags with matching serial, original purchase receipt, dealer business card and original UK punched guarantee paper.
While the Daytona and Submariner may get more appreciation both at authorised dealers and vintage auctions, the Rolex Datejust has indisputably formed the backbone of the brand's collection since its introduction in 1945.
Unlike its fellow siblings, the Datejust was not design with a specific purpose in mind. As such, it has become perhaps the most versatile Rolex ever made, being at home in the boardroom as well as by the side of a pool.
Known by many simply as 'the Crown', Rolex has certainly done much to deserve its reputation. From its founding just over a century ago by a German immigrant in the UK, Rolex has grown to become an international behemoth, recognisable (and indeed visible) across the globe.
Compared to other modern watchmakers, Rolex is in the near-unique position where its vintage watches have developed an almost entirely distinct collector base. It's no surprise, however, given the diversity and iconic status of so many Rolex models. The vintage Rolex community has arguably brought vintage watch collecting into the mainstream by shedding light on the beauty of old, worn watches which had so long been ignored by most.
