The Toric from Parmigiani Fleurier is a spin on the classic dress watch. While it broadly adheres to the category (using a solid gold case and relatively thin movement), it also has some unusual features. For example, the uniquely-shaped hands are filled with luminescent material ,while the date window is lengthened to take up more space than normal. These features make for a very eye-catching alternative to your standard dress watches.
This watch is in excellent condition, with hairline scratches on the case and pin buckle.
Comes with inner and outer box set, document folder, instruction manual, polishing cloth and original guarantee card.
PARMIGIANI FLEURIER
The Parmigiani brand started out as a repair workshop set up by Michel Parmigiani. Only a few years after its foundation, it was entrusted by the Sandoz Family Foundation (which houses complex automatons and clocks) to maintain and repair its collection. Parmigiani Fleurier only became a proper watch brand in 1996, and only released its first wristwatch in 1999.
The brand was quickly noted for promoting old-fashioned techniques and complications, such as the retrograde mechanism. In 2003, the watchmaker created Vaucher Fleurier, a movement manufacturing specialist. Today, this company makes movements for Parmigiani, but also many other illustrious names such as Hermes and Richard Mille. Many young independent watchmakers owe their success to a base calibre from Vaucher Fleurier, which highlights the impressive capabilities behind the brand.
