Ming's 20.11 was designed from the ground up as the brand's flagship watch. It's a showstopper from both front and back, with a mosaic patterned sapphire crystal dial containing 2,650 individual laser-etched rectangles. It's visually stunning, and complements the skeletonised movement.
Speaking of the movement, the watch has the ASE 200.2, customised by Schwarz-Etienne for Ming. It's a skeletonised movement with a micro-rotor, giving you a full, unobstructed view of the movement. The calibre is black-coated, which lets the polished bevels on its plates shine in contrast.
This Ming is no longer in production.
MING
When you see a watch brand set up by watch collectors, photographers and designers, you know it's bound to be good. Named after the founder, Ming Thein, the brand started out at the lower end of the scale, working standard ETA movements into their innovative and eye-catching case and dial designs. Gradually, the brand worked its way up in terms of complexity and price, and more recently began working with movement makers Agenhor as well as Schwarz Etienne to create extensively modified movements. Today, the brand offers a wide range of watches which are highly collectible, yet have a unity of design that would be impossible for a larger and more decentralised brand.
