The Master Control Calendar by Jaeger-LeCoultre is representative of why collectors and enthusiasts refer to the brand as 'the watchmaker's watchmaker'. It features a triple calendar as well as a moonphase. Rather than appearing cluttered, however, the complications are elegantly combined to create a watch that is beautiful to look at.

The watch is traditionally styled, with a classic silver dial and subtle pops of red and blue. There are some concessions to modernity, though, with lume plots and lume-filled hands. The case is also a modern 40mm in size, with 50 metres of water resistance. This makes it the perfect everyday watch, while also packing a horological punch.

Jaeger-LeCoultre, also known as JLC, has a rightfully-deserved reputation as the 'watchmaker's watchmaker'. This stems from the fact that in its over 180 years of existence, the company has over 1,200 movements and 400 patents to its name. Even today, many watches still utilise JLC base movements, including the Audemars Piguet 15202.

This watchmaking expertise doesn't mean that the company is limited to making movements for others, however. The brand has also released its fair share of iconic watches, including the Reverso and Memovox.
