This IWC is in excellent condition, with scratches throughout the case and bezel. The crystal has some very light chipping, and the original IWC strap is in good (used) condition. The watch is presented on an aftermarket strap, but the original is also included.
Comes with inner IWC box, the outer finish has marks from storage, the inside of the box has light marks, also included the original warranty booklet, user manual and original guarantee card.
The IWC Portuguese is one of IWC's emblematic models. Born out of a special request by a Portuguese businessman to case a pocket watch movement inside a wristwatch, the basic design philosophy of the line has barely changed in the last few decades. Featuring highly legible dials, crisp Arabic numerals and leaf-shaped hands, the Portuguese is among the manufacturer's most recognisable timepieces.
IWC
IWC, previously known as the International Watch Company, is the unlikely result of an American businessman's industrial practices applied to traditional Swiss watchmaking. His attempt to industrialise Swiss watchmaking was heavily opposed in French Switzerland, but he found in Schaffhausen a town that welcomed his ideas.
Fast forward to today, IWC stays close to its industrial-age heritage. While the new manufacture looks nothing like the factories of the 19th Century, it still approaches watchmaking with the same efficiency that was unheard of when the company was first conceived.
