The Sea-Dweller is Rolex's answer to those who liked the Submariner, but required a watch that could go deeper into the sea. It was launched in 1967 and offered triple the Submariner's water resistance by using a helium escape valve.
The 'James Cameron', named after the filmmaker who undertook the world's first solo dive to the bottom of the Mariana Trench, features a graduated dial that sweeps from blue to black. Water resistant to 3,900m, it is unapologetically large and has a very substantial presence on the wrist.
