A rare Cartier monopusher chronograph with an historically important movement

The Cartier Tortue Monopoussoir was manufactured between 1998 and 2008, as part of the Collection Privee Cartier Paris, in very limited quantities. The case, made from 18K white gold, is entirely polished, and measures 43mm x 35mm with an overall thickness of 10mm.

The display caseback reveals the exquisite, and historically important Calibre 045MC movement, designed by THA Ebauche - a collective of F.P. Journe, Vianney Halter and Denis Flageollet (De Bethune) before they each started independent manufactures of their own. The movement is stunningly hand finished, and as a manual movement, it has no rotor hiding it's magnificence.

This Tortue Monopoussoir is a very early example, indicated by a low reference number, and includes the rarest and most sought-after dial variant, with deep blue printing on a stunningly finished, yet subtle guilloche white dial.

This particular example includes its original ox-blood red strap, white gold deployant buckle, and a replacement 'new-old-stock' navy blue Cartier strap to complement the blue tones of the dial perfectly. The watch includes its original CPCP printed box.
